SEED wins Australian Social Enterprise of the Year Award

SEED’s Enterprise Director said “Winning the Small Social Enterprise of the Year Award is testament to the hard and work and dedication of many people over the last few years at SEED; not only our wonderful staff such as Andrew White, Raelene Jackson, Buddhika and Christopher Leonard but also the incredible support team that have got behind our mission to create social inclusion for disadvantaged people through employment. Special mentions must go to Susan Black of SVA, our local representatives Kerry Millard MP and Cllr Victoria Newton, purchasers of our services such as Brisbane City Council, and of course to Sandbag Inc who set up SEED to create employment for local long term unemployed people.

SEED has created over 20,000 hours of employment and paid $500,000 in award wages to disadvantaged staff over the last four years, and this award will help propel us towards greater heights – creating social impact using business principles”
